Constrained by two major factors, industrial robots are still at a crucial stage

"Made in China 2025" made clear the robot as a key breakthrough areas, the robot industry is rapidly developing, in particular, industrial robots have become the world's largest market. However, limited by technology, brand and other factors, China's robot industry is now at a crucial stage.


As demographic dividends gradually disappear, our country has become the world's largest industrial robot market. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information, by 2020, China will form a relatively complete industrial robot industrial system with a high-end market share of more than 45%.


Industrial robots are one of the most important basic equipment for implementing automated production lines, industrial 4.0, intelligent manufacturing workshops, digital factories and smart factories. The industrial robot industry is the backbone of the sustainable development of China's manufacturing industry.


According to the forecast by the World Health Organization, by 2050, China will have 35% of the population over the age of 60 and become the most aging country in the world. However, the penetration of domestic robots is extremely low. In 2013, the number of robots per 10,000 workers in China was only 23, which was significantly lower than that of the United States (146), Japan (332) and South Korea (396). There was much room for domestic robots to exist.


China must implement "Made in China 2025" and smart manufacturing is the main direction. China has a good foundation for R & D in the key basic technologies of intelligent manufacturing. However, it still has a long way to go before it can fully develop its intelligent manufacturing.


At the government level, "Made in China 2025" explicitly targets robots as a key development area, encourages research and development of new robot products, and breakthroughs in bottlenecks such as key components and system integration design and manufacturing to facilitate the development of smart manufacturing.


In order to implement "Made in China 2025" as the overall deployment of robot in key areas of development and promote the rapid healthy and sustainable development of robot industry in our country, "Robot Industry Development Plan (2016-2020)" proposes that by 2020, China's own brand The annual output of industrial robots will reach 100,000 sets, and the annual output of industrial robots with six axes and above will reach 50,000 sets.


However, the development of industrial robots in China is not a smooth path on the road to manufacturing 2025 in China, which is mainly constrained by two major factors. On the one hand, the global industrial robot market has long been monopolized by international giants. The four major families account for half of the global industrial robot market share, accounting for an astonishing 70% or more in the Chinese market. Compared with the international robot giant, Chinese enterprises in the brand, technology, capacity and cost of multi-dimensional competition at a disadvantage.


On the other hand, although industrial robots follow the development of the times and the industry has a bright future, the contradiction between the supply and demand imbalance of talents in this field is becoming increasingly prominent. On the one hand, robotic manufacturers, system integrators and automotive manufacturing industry thrived, on the other hand, inadequate supply of talent, it is difficult to meet the business needs of employers.


In the next few years, with the rapid development of China's manufacturing industry, especially in the automobile and auto parts manufacturing industry and the motorcycle industry, the assembly volume of industrial robots will steadily increase. At present, the main application fields of industrial robots in China are automobiles, electrical and electronics, rubber and plastics, metallurgy, food and cosmetics. As technology advances, the field of industrial robot applications will also be rapidly expanding.
