For tap holes with the same pitch and different diameters, using taps requires more tools to complete, but if using a thread insert, use a single tool. After the tap wear and machining thread size is smaller than the tolerance, it cannot be used anymore. It can only be scrapped. When the thread insert wears and the size of the machined thread hole is smaller than the tolerance, the necessary tool radius compensation can be adjusted by the CNC system, and the machining can be continued. Size qualified thread.

For small-diameter threading, especially in high-hardness materials and high-temperature materials, the tap sometimes breaks, blocks the threaded hole, and even scraps the part. With the thread insert, the diameter of the tool is smaller than the processed hole, even if it is broken. It will block the threaded hole, it is very easy to remove, will not lead to scrap parts.
